Job Description:

Atticus Franchise Group is currently seeking a Senior Staff Accountant for a full-time position at our corporate office in Atlanta, GA. He/ she will be expected to take an active role in collecting and consolidating data out of the accounting system for each of our brands, P&L review and month end processes for all Atticus brands, and must possess highly advanced financial and data analysis skills consistent with Atticus' highly analytical approach. The role will report to the Senior Accounting Manager and work very closely with our third-party accounting partners. This person must be focused, energetic, and highly motivated. He/she must be a self-starter with a positive, "can do" attitude who regards no task as too big or too small for him/her. This person should be able to manage his/her responsibilities with minimal supervision or oversight while maintaining a high sense of urgency.


Responsibilities Include, but are not Limited to:

  • Assist in the preparation of interpretive analysis of monthly and quarterly trended results to be used by Management for the balance sheet and P&L.
  • Prepare and update monthly intercompany entries.
  • Support manager with all brands to ensure the accuracy, usefulness and timeliness of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements provided to management team and external auditors.
  • Participate as necessary in accounting integration of business acquisitions.
  • Support general accounting and related general ledger. Ensure all closing and external reporting deadlines and accounting standards are met.
  • Prepares analysis weekly to ensure assigned accounts are booked correctly into the GL system.
  • Prepare General ledger entries that will be submitted to our 3rd party partners to record.
  • Knowledge and ability to assist accounting team with month-end close process.
  • Research, interpret and ensure compliance with GAAP. Support and improve processes.
  • Research, analyze and resolve P&L issues and questions from Manager and brand teams.
  • Assist in the year-end financial statement audits and interrim reviews with the external auditors, specifically in the preparation of audit schedules.
  • Other adhoc projects assigned to meet business requirements.


Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Strong personal computer skills, including advanced proficiency with MS office software, particularly Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, etc.), E-mail, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving and time management skills, including ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently and meet established deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals.
  • Effective communication skills, including listening, written and verbal skills to express ideas, influence others and gain support.
  • Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality.
  • Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail.
  • Required Education and Experience: Minimum three (5) years professional experience and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
